The God Virus Indigo Adventures Book 1 eBook Justin Smith
I liked it so much I bought it after I finished my Kindle Unlimited download (great deal by the way if you read a lot). Once I started the book it was very hard to put down. In fact, I didn't. It starts out with a common theme, the character takes a pill which alters his DNA and gives him super powers, but I wouldn't exactly call it a super hero book. I liked how it was respectful of Christianity, but suggested that there may be even more. There was no preaching, just ideas. There where a few errors like leaving out an "a" or a "the" but not often and nothing important. The story was great and I wish there was a sequel.Tags : Amazon.com: The God Virus (Indigo Adventures Book 1) eBook: Justin Smith: Kindle Store, ebook,Justin Smith,The God Virus (Indigo Adventures Book 1),Five Dimensions Press,Fiction Romance Science Fiction,Fiction Superheroes
The God Virus Indigo Adventures Book 1 eBook Justin Smith Reviews
I received a print copy of The God Virus from the author for review. Editorial note I see other reviewers state that they were given a book in exchange for an honest review. I don't recall ever being offered a book in exchange for a dis-honest review. Just wanted to say that since I don't make such declarations anymore.
Author Indigo Voyager (that's what my copy says) has created an excellent story of fantasy, suspense, crime, politics, government, academia and family. This book is just great!
I have seen three different covers for this book. One of which identifies the author as Justin Smith, the person I received the book from. I do like my cover best and I think it may be the first, and the author can call themselves anything they like. You'll see the connection between the story and Indigo Voyager when you read the book.
The story starts with an experimental drug trial and develops into a wild ride as the main characters try to stabilize an out of control situation.
The story deals with the creation of a superhuman hybrid. Of course everyone. good and bad, wants to control them. We see the positive and negative aspects of having such beings in "regular" society. The new humans are just short of indestructible and omnipotent. Fortunately for us the new hybrids are basically good people. I like this format; fantasy that still operates within a realistic format. This makes characters and situations more believable.
The suspense builds as the story progresses. The whole situation grows more and more complex as more people learn about the hybrids.
The story is well balanced between violence and tenderness, drama and humor, good and bad. The God Virus by Indigo Voyager (that's what my copy says) is a fantastic start to this series. I look forward to reading more. Give this book a look, I think you will like it. Enjoy!
I received a copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected how I read the book.
What a fascinating novel pure science fiction at every level. I can't think of a novel that works its way through every consequence of a premise like this one does. It's so detailed, complex, and has fantastic characters you'll love to follow.
When Derek signs up for an experimental drug treatment, he never expects to have his entire DNA changed. Soon, he's able to experience out of body travels, and begins to develop abilities that stretch far beyond what is normal. Heck, he isn't even human anymore...
After Allie contracts these same changes from him, the two of them are suddenly the only two people of their kind, and they're hunted by everyone who wants to get their hands on this human enhancing 'drug'. No one is safe not Derek or Allie, nor their families, their friends... as the two fall in love with each other, they must fight the mob and angry governments in order to keep themselves, and everyone they love, safe from harm.
I can't decide what I liked best about this book. As a scifi nerd, I absolutely the science behind it all. There was just so much in this book, and small, real sources and facts to back it all up. Do you remember the movie 'Lucy'? This is how that movie could have succeeded. Humans outgrowing their humanity and becoming something more backed by (somewhat feasible) science, and a thrilling plot that has you caring for them all the way through, urging them to succeed.
What marked me was, even as Derek and Allie stop being human, they never lose their humanity. They care so much about their families. This determination not only to care for their own, but to make the world a better place along the way, makes them incredibly likable. As they grow into their new abilities, they're supportive of each other, and work through the hard times together. It makes them both relatable and lovable.
Surprisingly, all the 'background' characters have so much depth as well. From the mobster grandfather to the Hawaiian boyfriend, everyone has an intricate story to tell. When they were in trouble, you want to save them as quick as possible; while, when they were happy, you feel energized and excited for them.
The novel also deals with questions such as parallel universes and timelines; building and creating a society or civilization; making big bucks with stocks; Souls and Spirit Realms; and the Russian mob, too. As you can tell, there's a whole lot going on!
All in all, if you need a good, complex science fiction novel, then you're going to want to read The God Virus. It's a fantastic, thrilling story which is incredibly memorable. Scifi fans everywhere are going to want to read more!
AMAZING book...love this author----waiting for book 2!!!!!!!
Please make this a series of books. If I were a movie producer, filming would be starting soon. I had no trouble giving this book the maximum number of stars.
This is a great book! Loved it. Exciting, descriptive, and totally enjoyable
Good Concept but too much wandering off the main theme/storyline which disrupts the flow and breaks one's concentration
Fun, run read, had to read it all in one sitting. Love the inter dimensional travel concept and the characters in general. The scenery is described so well that I could picture all of these places in my mind, very well done.
